Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant automotive workshop experience, preferably with experience in European or Peugeot/Citroën vehicles.

• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.

• Experience using automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.

• Good understanding of vehicle troubleshooting and systematic fault diagnosis.

• Able to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic information.

• Valid Malaysian driving licence.

Preferred:

• Previous experience with Peugeot, Citroën, or other Stellantis brands.

• Manufacturer technical training or certification.

• Experience handling warranty and technical cases.

• Experience with modern vehicle electrical/electronic systems, CAN-bus networks, ADAS, and diagnostic systems.

• May be required to attend technical training, product launches, and manufacturer programmes.

Job Summary

The Technical Advisor is responsible for providing professional technical and customer service support throughout the vehicle service and repair process. The role acts as the key liaison between customers, Service Advisors, technicians, parts personnel, and management to ensure Peugeot vehicles are diagnosed, repaired, and maintained according to manufacturer standards.

The Technical Advisor is expected to provide accurate technical advice, support vehicle diagnostics, identify repair requirements, and ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with Peugeot technical procedures and standards.

Key Responsibilities

A. Technical Diagnosis & Support

• Perform and support accurate diagnosis of Peugeot vehicle technical problems, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, and diagnostic issues.

• Analyse vehicle symptoms, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), customer complaints, and technical findings.

• Use Peugeot diagnostic equipment, technical information systems, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer repair procedures where required.

• Provide technical guidance to technicians during complex diagnosis and repair cases.

• Identify the root cause of vehicle problems and recommend appropriate repair solutions.

• Support technicians in resolving difficult or recurring technical issues.

• Escalate complex or unresolved technical cases to the relevant Peugeot technical support team when necessary.

B. Vehicle Inspection & Repair Quality

• Conduct vehicle inspections and verify reported customer concerns.

• Ensure technicians follow Peugeot repair procedures and technical standards.

• Review repair findings and confirm that the recommended repair is appropriate.

• Perform or coordinate quality checks after repairs have been completed.

• Ensure vehicles are properly tested before being returned to customers.

• Monitor repeat repairs and identify opportunities to improve repair quality.

C. Warranty & Technical Documentation

• Assist with warranty diagnosis and warranty claim preparation in accordance with Peugeot warranty policies.

• Ensure technical findings and repair documentation are complete and accurate.

• Maintain proper records of diagnostic procedures, replaced parts, and repair activities.

• Prepare technical reports for complicated or recurring cases when required.

• Ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements for technical documentation.

D. Workshop Coordination

• Work closely with Service Advisors, Workshop Technicians, Parts Department, and Service Management.

• Provide technical input when estimating repair time, parts requirements, and repair procedures.

• Assist in prioritising technical cases according to customer requirements and workshop capacity.

• Support the workshop in achieving productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction targets.

• Communicate repair status and technical findings effectively to relevant departments.
