Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based at Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara in Petaling Jaya. The Occupational Therapist will assess patients’ functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to improve daily living skills and independence. Responsibilities include collaborating with multidisciplinary medical and rehabilitation teams, documenting patient progress, and educating patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic activities and home programs. The role involves working with diverse patient groups across the lifespan, performing clinical evaluations, recommending assistive devices, and contributing to discharge planning and continuity of care. The Occupational Therapist will also support quality improvement initiatives and uphold the hospital’s standards of compassionate, holistic patient care.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation to assess, plan, and deliver effective therapeutic interventions.
• Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Medicine to understand diagnoses, treatment plans, and multidisciplinary clinical care.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams and to provide clear education and counseling.
• Candidates should possess experience or interest in Pediatrics to manage occupational therapy needs of children and adolescents where required.
• Recognized degree in Occupational Therapy and current professional registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant local regulatory body.
• Previous clinical experience in hospital or rehabilitation settings, including assessment, treatment planning, and use of assistive equipment.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Strong documentation, time management, and caseload management skills; proficiency with basic clinical IT systems is an advantage.
