Company Description MIE INDUSTRIAL SDN BHD is engaged in major engineering projects such as the Ethane Maximizing (EMAX) Project for Ethylene Malaysia Sdn Bhd, with Toyo Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd as a key client. The company’s scope covers engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for complex industrial facilities. Project work includes comprehensive electrical and instrumentation design in line with Petronas Technical Specifications and local authority requirements. Typical deliverables range from single line diagrams and lighting layouts to hazardous area classification, grounding plans, cable sizing, and various electrical schedules. MIE INDUSTRIAL SDN BHD also leads and coordinates multidisciplinary site teams to ensure safe, compliant, and timely project delivery.

Role Description

The Senior Project Planner is a full-time, on-site role based in Puchong. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating planning activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, and ensuring timelines align with client and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing detailed work plans, tracking progress, analyzing schedule performance, and providing early warnings on potential delays or resource constraints. The Senior Project Planner collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, QA/QC personnel, supervisors, and site teams to integrate planning data, support decision-making, and optimize project execution. The role also involves preparing regular planning reports, attending coordination meetings, and contributing to continuous improvement of planning processes and tools.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Planning & Scheduling skills, including development, updating, and optimization of project timelines.
• Candidates should possess solid Planning and Project Control skills to manage milestones, resources, and progress tracking.
• Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret project data, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Experience in industrial or engineering projects, preferably in electrical, instrumentation, or petrochemical sectors.
• Proficiency with project planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and MS Office tools.
• Relevant academic qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines safely and compliantly.
