Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced compliance professional to lead the Compliance function for its asset management business in Singapore.

The role will oversee regulatory compliance, AML/CFT controls and compliance monitoring, while advising management and business teams on regulatory requirements and risk matters.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the overall Compliance and AML/CFT function for the Singapore asset management business.
• Develop and carry out compliance monitoring and review activities.
• Identify compliance issues, escalate material concerns and ensure proper follow-up and closure.
• Prepare compliance reports for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain and update compliance policies, manuals and internal procedures in line with regulatory or business changes.
• Conduct regulatory and compliance training for employees.
• Oversee AML/KYC reviews, screening and ongoing monitoring.
• Work closely with Risk and other business functions to strengthen controls and processes.
• Provide practical compliance advice to management and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Degree in Law, Finance, Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant compliance experience, ideally within asset management or investment management.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore regulatory requirements applicable to asset management.
• Good understanding of AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions and compliance monitoring.
• Familiarity with investment products and asset management operations.
• Able to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical policies and controls.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Leadership or team management experience preferred.
• Relevant compliance, AML or risk certification would be an advantage.
