Support the production of pastries and desserts according to approved menus, recipes, preparation methods and food-safety standards.

Work aboard a China cruise line offering Asia-focused voyages from major homeports in China. Build valuable international pastry experience while working in a culturally dynamic environment and travelling to destinations across East and Southeast Asia.

Important: Cruise ship grading differs from land-based hotel grading. Depending on relevant experience and the client’s assessment, candidates may be considered for a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role.

• Secondary-school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school or college in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management or a related field.

• At least two years of experience in a similar pastry-production position within a high-volume hotel, restaurant, pastry house, supermarket or hypermarket.

• Valid HACCP certification.

• Strong knowledge of pastry and dessert-making techniques.

• Able to operate pastry equipment and use the required kitchen tools safely.

• Knowledge of team organisation and management.

• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.

• Able to communicate in basic English.

Salary

• Monthly Contract Salary: USD 1,163.00

• Contract Duration: 8 months

• Prepare, present and serve pastry and dessert items according to approved recipes and temperature requirements.

• Prepare and mix ingredients for cooking and baking, including portioning, chopping and proper storage.

• Coordinate pastry production according to the menu plan and assigned preparation methods.

• Minimise food spoilage while maintaining the required quality standards.

• Check provisions received against requisition forms and report discrepancies promptly.

• Keep the assigned galley area clean, organised and sanitised.

• Store utensils properly according to HACCP standards and established procedures.

• Operate equipment and machinery safely.

• Report maintenance requirements, unsafe conditions and workplace injuries immediately.

• Attend daily meetings to review menu changes and operational feedback.

• Support bakery operations when required to maintain service continuity.

• Assist with the supervision of up to five team members.

• Promote workplace safety and ensure procedures are followed.

• Perform other duties assigned by the line manager.
