As a Design HSE Engineer, you will execute Design HSE, Loss Prevention, and Fire Protection Engineering activities. This role involves managing technical deliverables, coordinating with clients and third-party consultants, and providing technical support across the project lifecycle—from proposal and engineering to procurement, construction, commissioning, and regulatory approval.
Key Responsibilities: -
- Engineering & Design Execution: Deliver and review Design HSE, Loss Prevention, and Fire Protection Engineering deliverables in compliance with client specifications and international standards.
- Safety & Risk Studies: Coordinate, review, and analyze desktop safety studies and workshops, ensuring quality and timely execution by third-party consultants. Core studies include:
- HAZID / HAZOP / IPF (SIL)
- QRA / HRA / HER & Bow-Tie
- Gas Dispersion & Alarm Rationalization Studies
- CIMAH & Human Factor Engineering (HFE)
- F&G Mapping & Fire Safety Analysis Reports (FSAR)
- Technical Documentation: Develop and review critical HSE philosophies, design bases, layouts, and specifications, including:
- Fire Safety/HSE Design Philosophies
- Firewater network hydraulic calculations
- Fire & Gas (F&G) detection layouts, control philosophies, and cause-and-effect diagrams
- Active/Passive fire protection layouts and firefighting equipment specifications
- Project Lifecycle Support: Provide technical expertise to Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning teams. Prepare testing and pre-commissioning procedures and coordinate site activities between sub-contractors, vendors, and owners.
- Regulatory Liaison & Compliance: Manage BOMBA (Fire and Rescue Department) submissions and approvals, including Fire Safety Design Philosophy (FSDP), Active Submissions, and representing the company during site functional testing and inspections.
- Proposal & Estimation Support: Assist in bidding phases by drafting comprehensive technical write-ups and developing accurate cost and man-hour estimations.
