About the role

As an Optics Fabrication Technician, you will lead team members through the complete lens fabrication process to support both prototype builds and production output. Experienced candidates capable of handling all key processes may be considered for a Line Leader position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead team members through the complete lens fabrication process

• Support prototype builds and production output

• Perform optical polishing and milling using blocking and single-spindle machines

• Operate Satisloh milling and polishing machines

• Make and dress new tooling for polishing and milling processes

• Operate lens centering machines and perform lens centering measurements

• Conduct visual QC inspection for lens surface quality

• Operate a Zygo interferometer for PV and power inspection

• Perform IR material milling and polishing

About you

• Mechanical background with optics fabrication experience

• Strong fundamental skills in optical polishing and milling using blocking and single-spindle machines

• Familiarity with Satisloh milling and polishing machines

• Ability to make and dress new tooling for polishing and milling processes

• Knowledge of operating lens centering machines and performing lens centering measurements

• Experience in visual QC inspection for lens surface quality

• Ability to operate a Zygo interferometer for PV and power inspection

• Experience in IR material milling and polishing

• Able to communicate in simple English

• Able to read lens drawings and specifications
