Job Description:

• Lead as the Fire Ground Commander in the event of an aircraft accident or incident within the vicinity of the airport.
• Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of shift rescue and firefighting capacity.
• Train and develop AFRS personnel in all aspects of rescue and firefighting.
• Oversee the conduct and discipline of AFRS personnel.
• Manage disciplinary matters firmly and in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Identify and report any malfunction involving the Crash Rescue Tender.
• Participate in rescue and firefighting drills as planned and required under the training programme.
• Maintain the readiness of facilities and equipment in accordance with the required category readiness.
• Assist the AGM, AVSEC & AFRS, in evaluating and ensuring the effectiveness of AFRS by reviewing practices, policies and procedures, and maintaining Station Orders.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the office, including organising and maintaining files and records, as well as planning and scheduling meetings and appointments.
• Coordinate matters related to safety compliance, procedures, Q-Radar, and internal or external audits.
• Perform the role of Risk Coordinator for the AFRS Department.
• Monitor existing and new legislation and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local requirements.
• Maintain records of staff leave applications, including Medical Certificate (MC), annual leave, hospitalisation leave, examination leave, unpaid leave, marriage leave, pilgrimage leave, compassionate leave and other applicable leave.
• Provide technical advice and expertise on fire prevention in accordance with company requirements, UBBL, and applicable Standards and Recommended Practices.
• Oversee and ensure that all fire protection, fire detection and fire suppression systems within airport buildings and terminal facilities are maintained in good working condition, operationally ready and compliant with applicable fire safety requirements, regulations and standards.

Education:

• Minimum Degree holder in any relevant field, with an advantage given to candidates with qualifications in Management, Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or Health, Safety & Environment.
• Diploma holder with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Fire Officer in operations and administration, with an advantage given to candidates who have experience serving as a Fire Chief at other airport.

Pay: From RM6,000.00 per month
