SAP Migration Architect / SAP BASIS Lead

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced SAP Migration Architect to lead a complex Brownfield++ SAP S/4HANA transformation program in Malaysia. The role combines SAP Migration Architecture, S/4HANA Conversion, and SAP BASIS Leadership, with end-to-end ownership of migration readiness, technical conversion, cutover, and go-live activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA migration architecture, conversion strategy, roadmap, and technical governance.
• Lead migration readiness assessments, technical due diligence, landscape assessment, and conversion planning.
• Execute and analyse SAP Readiness Check, Simplification Item (SI) Checks, CVI, Business Partner readiness, Custom Code Analysis, Add-on compatibility, data volume/quality, and integration readiness.
• Identify conversion blockers, risks, dependencies, and remediation actions; drive closure across functional and technical teams.
• Lead CVI and Business Partner conversion readiness, including customer/vendor master data assessment and remediation.
• Act as the SAP BASIS Lead, managing SAP landscapes, system conversion, upgrades, patching, transports, performance, availability, and technical troubleshooting.
• Lead SUM/DMO, database migration, Unicode conversion, and technical upgrade/conversion activities.
• Define and lead cutover, mock conversion, dress rehearsal, rollback, go-live, and hypercare strategies.
• Collaborate with functional, development, infrastructure, cloud, security, integration, data, and business teams.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to client leadership and communicate migration risks, readiness, and recommendations.

Mandatory Requirements

• 10–15+ years of SAP consulting, architecture, and technical delivery experience.
• Proven experience as SAP Migration Architect / Technical Architect / BASIS Lead / S/4HANA Conversion Lead.
• Mandatory: At least one end-to-end Brownfield SAP S/4HANA migration/conversion project delivered in a lead role.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA conversion methodologies and migration strategies.
• Proven experience with SAP Readiness Check, Simplification Item Checks, CVI, Business Partner Conversion, Custom Code Impact Assessment, and Integration Readiness.
• Strong SAP BASIS expertise covering landscape management, SUM/DMO, system conversion, Unicode conversion, database migration, upgrades, and technical troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of SAP architecture, interfaces, integrations, middleware, and surrounding enterprise applications.
• Excellent client-facing, consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Multiple SAP S/4HANA migration/transformation projects.
• Experience in Brownfield+, Selective Data Transition, or Hybrid Transformation programs.
• SAP S/4HANA Conversion or SAP Technology certification.
• Exposure to Azure, AWS, or GCP SAP environments.
• Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, Focused Run, ChaRM, SAP Signavio, or SAP Cloud ALM.
• Experience working on large-scale enterprise or multinational SAP transformation programs.

Key Success Profile: The successful candidate must be hands-on, technically strong, and client-facing, with the ability to operate as both SAP Migration Architect and BASIS Lead. Strong ownership of migration readiness, risk mitigation, remediation, technical governance, and successful cutover execution is essential.
