Our client is an established communications consultancy with a strong presence in Singapore and across Asia Pacific. The firm works with a range of regional and international organisations, providing strategic communications, media relations and corporate reputation advisory.

Due to continued growth in the region, they are looking to appoint an experienced Account Director to join their Singapore team.

about the job

Reporting directly to the Regional CEO, the Account Director will play a senior role within the Singapore business, with a balanced focus across strategic client leadership and new business development.

Approximately 50% of the role will focus on managing and growing existing key accounts. You will take ownership of several large and complex regional client relationships, providing strategic communications counsel and overseeing the successful delivery of multi-market campaigns across Asia Pacific.

You will be responsible for developing communications strategies, strengthening senior media relationships and advising clients on corporate positioning, thought leadership, executive profiling, reputation and issues management.

The remaining 50% will focus on new business development, identifying and pursuing new client opportunities, developing relationships with prospective clients, leading pitches and proposals, and working closely with the Regional CEO to grow the agency's presence and client portfolio across the region.

The role will also have responsibility for leading and developing a sizeable account team in Singapore, ensuring strong client delivery, effective resource management and the continued development of team members.

skills and experience required

• Strong experience within Public Relations, corporate communications or strategic communications, preferably within an agency environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing large, complex regional and multi-market accounts across APAC.
• Strong relationships with leading financial, business and mainstream media in Singapore and internationally.
• Experience working with clients within financial services, fintech, technology or other complex corporate sectors would be advantageous.
• Proven ability to build senior client relationships and provide strategic communications counsel to senior and C-suite stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of media strategy, corporate positioning, executive profiling, thought leadership, reputation and issues management.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing communications/account teams.
• Strong business development and commercial capabilities, with experience identifying opportunities, developing prospective client relationships and contributing to successful pitches.
• Track record of growing existing accounts through identifying additional opportunities and deepening client relationships.
• Ability to balance client delivery, team leadership and business development across multiple regional priorities in a fast-paced environment.
