FirstStep is looking for a motivated and tech-savvy IT & Data Intern to join our growing team.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in software development, data analysis and business technology. You will work with real business data from our Shopee, Lazada, online platforms, Child Development Centre and Child Specialist Clinic, and help turn data into useful insights for the team.

You will also have the opportunity to develop simple in-house systems, dashboards or tools that can improve our daily operations and support business decision-making.

This is a practical opportunity for someone who wants to apply their IT and technical knowledge to real business problems, rather than focusing only on traditional IT support.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and improving in-house software, internal systems, databases and dashboards.
• Collect, organise and maintain business data from Shopee, Lazada, online platforms, the Centre and Clinic.
• Analyse sales, product and business performance data to identify trends, patterns and possible reasons for changes in performance.
• Prepare simple reports and dashboards to help the management team monitor business performance and make data-informed decisions.
• Compare product prices, promotions and market information across different platforms and competitors.
• Track product performance, sales trends and other relevant business indicators.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve existing work processes.
• Conduct basic research on technology, software, data tools and digital solutions that may benefit the business.
• Work with the team to identify technology solutions for real business needs.
• Explore and apply AI tools, automation and other technologies where appropriate.

Who We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field.
• Interested in software development, data analysis, technology and business problem-solving.
• Basic knowledge of programming, software development or data analysis.
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel, databases or data visualisation tools is an advantage.
• Comfortable working with numbers, data and structured information.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and able to identify patterns or problems.
• Willing to learn new technologies, software and AI tools.
• Interested in exploring how technology can be applied to solve real business problems.
• Organised, responsible and able to manage tasks independently.
• A good communicator who is comfortable working with a team.
• Proactive and willing to take initiative rather than simply waiting for instructions.
• Open to feedback and willing to learn from new challenges.
• Internship duration of at least 3 months.

Experience with Python, SQL, JavaScript, databases, Power BI, Tableau, dashboard development, automation, AI tools or other programming/data-related tools is an advantage, but you do not need to be experienced in everything.
