We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Security Consultant to provide 2nd and 3rd level support for IT security incidents and help maintain a secure and efficient security environment. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Defender Platform, security incident investigation, digital forensics, and security frameworks.

The role involves monitoring and responding to security alerts, investigating incidents, identifying root causes, optimizing security solutions, and collaborating with different Digital, Operational Technology, and Development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as 2nd and 3rd level support for IT security incidents reported through security tools.
• Monitor, investigate, and resolve IT security incidents.
• Ensure root causes are identified and appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Develop, configure, maintain, and support the Microsoft Defender Platform.
• Continuously optimize Microsoft Defender security capabilities and configurations.
• Monitor and follow up alerts generated by EDR systems.
• Monitor and investigate alerts from SIEM platforms.
• Perform digital forensics and security investigations when required.
• Participate in IT security projects and initiatives.
• Support the security design of new and existing IT solutions.
• Optimize solutions based on IT security requirements and best practices.
• Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
• Support stable day-to-day IT security operations together with the security team.
• Collaborate with Digital departments, particularly Platform teams, to improve security maturity and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with Group Operational Technology (OT) and Group Development teams.
• Participate in security-related discussions across different departments and cultures.
• Travel occasionally as required, approximately 10–15 days per calendar year.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in IT Security.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft Defender Platform.
• Strong experience investigating and handling IT security incidents.
• Knowledge of security standards and frameworks, including:
• ISO 2700x / ISO 27001
• NIST Cybersecurity Framework
• CIS Controls
• Or similar frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct security assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Ability to investigate issues thoroughly and pursue root causes.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfortable working with teams and stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds.

Preferred / Advantageous Skills

• Experience with Elastic Security (SIEM).
• Experience with Trend Micro Vision One.
• Knowledge of Python and/or PowerShell scripting.
• Experience performing:
• Vulnerability assessments
• Penetration testing
• Digital forensics investigations
• Technical knowledge of:
• Operational Technology (OT)
• Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
• Relevant certifications such as:
• CISSP
• CISM
• CRISC
• Other relevant cybersecurity certifications
• Relevant degree in:
• Computer Science
• Computer Engineering
• Engineering
• Information Security
• Related technical fields

Pay: RM11,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
