TAX SPECIALIST
• Prepares tax returns and supporting workpapers, estimated tax payments and various other tax compliance. This involves analyzing the General Ledger (income/expenses)
• Assists in preparing monthly tax provisions, transfer pricing documentation, SST bi-monthly returns.
• Ensuring all tax payments are made on time to mitigate penalty risks.
• Supports company tax audits, responses to tax notices, and timely resolution of other tax matters. • Performs basic technical research to address tax issues, including planning opportunities.
• Provides other tax support, which may include implementation of legislative changes.
• Prepare applications for taxation rulings, tax incentives and tax exemptions where available
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position, minimize tax liabilities, and manage risks.
• Provide advice on tax implications for business transactions and any new ventures
• Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the impact on the company’s tax position.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and other business units, to ensure alignment on tax-related matters.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and/or professional qualification.
• Strong tax technical knowledge with at least 4-5 years' working experience in tax compliance
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• A good level of commercial awareness.
• Self-motivated and proactive in supporting business development efforts
• Control and compliance orientation
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and SAP
