We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Civil & Structural (C&S) Inspector of Works (IOW) to oversee and inspect site construction activities for large-scale infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all civil and structural works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site inspection and supervision of civil and structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
- Inspect and monitor piling works including bored piles, spun piles, RC piles, micropiles, and diaphragm wall construction.
- Supervise basement construction and long span structural works to ensure workmanship and quality requirements are achieved.
- Monitor water supply and sewerage reticulation works for large-scale developments.
- Ensure all construction activities are performed in accordance with project quality and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and site personnel on inspection matters and technical issues.
- Verify construction materials, workmanship, and site activities through regular inspections and testing.
- Maintain proper site records, inspection reports, and documentation.
- Identify non-conformance works and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Assist in monitoring project progress and reporting site issues to the Resident Engineer or Project Team.
- Support R&D-related engineering and construction works where applicable.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Registered Inspector of Works (IOW) with relevant authority would be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant site supervision and inspection experience in construction and infrastructure projects.
- Experience in handling large infrastructure project(s) is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience in:
(i) Piling works (bored pile, spun pile, RC pile, micropile, diaphragm wall)
(ii) Basement construction
(iii) Long span structures
(iv) Water and sewerage reticulation works for large-scale projects
(v) R&D works
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, site inspection procedures, and quality control requirements.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
