A sales assistant in a spec shop, which typically refers to a specialty store selling a focused range of products like eyewear, will primarily be responsible for greeting customers, assisting them in selecting the right product based on their needs, providing detailed information about product features, processing sales transactions, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring a positive customer experience, all while having in-depth knowledge about the specific products offered in the shop, including technical details and fitting procedures. Key responsibilities may include:

Customer Service:

  • Greeting customers warmly and professionally.
  • Actively listening to customer needs and providing personalized recommendations.
  • Helping customers find the appropriate products based on their requirements.
  • Answering questions about product features, specifications, and pricing. Product Knowledge:
  • Thoroughly understanding the different types of frames, lenses, and accessories sold in the shop.
  • Staying updated on new product lines and technological advancements.
  • Explaining technical aspects of products to customers in a clear and understandable way.
  • Sales Support:
  • Demonstrating how to properly fit frames and adjust lenses
  • Assisting with measurements and taking customer details for prescription orders
  • Upselling and cross-selling additional products to enhance customer experience
  • Processing sales transactions at the point-of-sale
  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintaining accurate stock levels and reporting discrepancies
  • Replenishing stock on the sales floor as needed
  • Checking product quality and ensuring proper display
  • Store Operations:
  • Maintaining a clean and organized sales area
  • Following store policies and procedures
  • Assisting with visual merchandising and promotional displays

Required Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong product knowledge and technical understanding of eyewear
  • Ability to accurately measure and fit frames
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer proficiency for sales transactions
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
