As a Process Engineer Cable & Wires, you will develop and optimize cable and wire manufacturing processes to ensure stable, high‑quality, and efficient production. By supporting new product introductions and process industrialization, you enable smooth launches and reliable transfer to production. You provide hands‑on shopfloor support to resolve process issues, improve yields, and reduce downtime. Working cross‑functionally, you drive continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry and customer standards.

Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Around 5-7 years of experience in cable and wire manufacturing, wire harness assembly, or EMS processes is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 standards is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and machine troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in process documentation, FMEA, control plans, and statistical tools.
  • Good working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Optimization
  • Develop and improve fundamental cable and wire manufacturing processes, including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, splicing, overmolding, and assembly.
  • Establish process flow, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Define and maintain norm times for manual operations to support accurate planning and costing.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Lead technical activities for new cable/wire products, including process setup, documentation, and validation.
  • Execute process transfers between sites following EMS standards and customer requirements.
  • Prepare and release process documentation, including control plans and Process FMEA.
  • Provide input and justification for CAPEX related to cable/wire production machines (cut/strip machines, crimping presses, pull‑testers, continuity testers, etc.).
  • Program and optimize process‑related machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure machine calibration and preventive maintenance are properly executed (accountable owner).
Production Support
  • Provide 1st & 2nd line support for machine and process issues to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor daily production performance and identify root causes for process deviations.
  • Drive continuous improvement and yield‑enhancement initiatives.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all processes comply with customer specifications, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 standards, and internal quality systems.
  • Perform capability studies, process validation, and release of machines/processes for mass production.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Production, and Supplier teams to resolve process‑related issues.
Supplier & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers for machine upgrades, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams including QA, ME, Purchasing, and Program Management for effective execution of customer programs.
DfX & Technical Governance
  • Contribute to Design-for-Manufacturing (DfM) and Design-for-Test (DfT) feedback for cable/wire products.
  • Collect and implement relevant DfX principles to improve manufacturability and cost efficiency.
