Job Description:

• Monitor all manufacturing processes according to Standard Operating Procedures or Business Processes.
• Supervise and monitor the progress of work and motivate a team of production floor workers such as welders, sheet metal fabrication for machinery, and understand engineering drawings, etc. in a steel fabrication factory.
• Plan and organise production schedules to execute within deadlines.
• Monitor ordering and purchasing of materials for production.
• Carry out routine inspection of equipment and factory maintenance.
• Identify Problems and Improve Process, develop new and cost-effective ways to improve quality and productivity. Developing new ways, improving existing process, providing additional training or adopting better manufacturing processes.
• Must be able to read and understand technical engineering drawing, able to carry out material take off and understand material specification.
• Reinvigorate by demonstrating hands on work activities for all subordinates such as marking, cutting, rolling shape, mould, fit up, grinding, heating, welding, machining, assembly and test dimension tolerance measurements to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications to fabricate assembling parts and components of pressure vessels.
• Inspect grooves, angles or gap allowances, using micrometre, calliper and precision measuring instruments.
• Ensure hand tools and equipment’s are operated correctly to avoid injuries at work.
• Monitor quality of welders’ jobs and train new welders to fabricate parts according to Welder Procedure Specification.
• Coordinate allocation of work according to each production process such as cutting and welding, to maximize optimum production time an avoid setbacks or backlogs to ensure on time and produce good quality end products.
• Check for all finished products to be clean, grind, polish and bathe in acid solutions and apply protective paint or coatings.
• Ensure re-works or repairs are made for defective or parts not conforming to specification after inspections and tests are made by QA/QC inspectors.
• Compliance to Quality Control Manual, safe work instruction and safety requirements.
• Coordination with QC department, contractors, purchasing department and others departments.
• To assist in production manager in manage and control of production planning, coordinate & supervise production operations including procedures.
• Responsible for meeting production schedule and quality standard
• Plan and manages schedule set by production, project, and sales.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety requirements at the factory area
• Compliance to all external and government agencies’ requirements such as Jabatan Kesihatan dan Keselamatan Pekerja (JKKP)
• Carry out any other duties or ad hoc tasks as assigned by Management.

Job Requirement:

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Professional Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any engineering field related.
• At least 5 years of working experience in machining processes, welding, sheet metal fabrication for machineries and understand engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of code and standard ASME
• Experience in steel fabrication
• Meticulous and great attention to details.
• Good organizational and analytical skill to ensure work processes carried out by subordinates are efficient and effective.
• Ability to understand cost containment and budgetary principles.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Required Skill(s): Good Communication Skills, leadership skills
• Preferably specialized in Manufacturing/Production Operations or equivalent.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Sepang.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
