Role Overview
A well-established automotive manufacturing operation is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance, facilities, and utility operations within a high-volume production environment. The role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting stable and efficient plant operations.
This position partners closely with production, engineering, EHS, and site leadership to drive maintenance excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall maintenance activities for automotive production machinery and supporting equipment
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to improve uptime and reduce unplanned breakdowns
- Ensure rapid response and effective troubleshooting of equipment failures to minimize production disruption
- Align maintenance planning with production schedules to ensure operational continuity
- Oversee plant utilities and site infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of electrical systems, compressed air, water supply, HVAC, and related utilities
- Maintain safe, reliable, and well-functioning facility conditions across the site
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant Malaysian regulatory and safety requirements
- Support audits, inspections, and implementation of corrective actions
- Promote safe working practices across internal teams and external contractors
- Manage maintenance budget, spare parts inventory, and asset upkeep
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and improved equipment reliability
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within maintenance and plant operations
- Manage external contractors, suppliers, and technical service providers
- Ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery of outsourced maintenance support
- Collaborate with internal departments to support production and operational targets
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- Strong experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Solid background in plant maintenance, equipment reliability, and facilities management
