Job description:

Roles & Responsibilities

The Production Assistant Planner supports the Production Planner in coordinating and executing daily and weekly production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime. This role involves close collaboration with production, warehouse, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow and accurate planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Scheduling Support
  • Assist in preparing daily and weekly production schedules based on order forecasts and inventory levels.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and update the planner on any deviations or delays.
  • Material & Inventory Coordination
  • Check material availability against production requirements and alert the planner of any shortages.
  • Liaise with the warehouse team to ensure timely issuance and return of production materials.
  • Documentation & System Updates
  • Maintain accurate records of production orders, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Update production data in the ERP/system as needed.
  • Communication & Coordination
  • Communicate effectively with production supervisors, quality control, and warehouse teams to coordinate scheduling changes.
  • Support in rescheduling and prioritizing production based on urgent orders or changes in demand.
  • Reporting
  • Generate reports on production output, material usage, and schedule adherence for planner review.
  • Track and report on any delays, bottlenecks, or issues affecting production timelines.
  • Process Improvement
  • Participate in initiatives to improve planning accuracy, reduce waste, and enhance production flow.
  • Support planner in analyzing past performance to optimize future planning.
  • Other Duties
  • Assist in preparing documents for audits and compliance purposes.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Production Planner or management.

Authority

  • Authorizing changes in production priorities when necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Escalating critical issues (e.g., supply shortages or quality concerns) to higher management.
  • Resolving minor conflicts in resource allocation (e.g., machine availability or labor shifts).
  • Adjusting plans to accommodate unanticipated changes, such as small equipment failures or rush orders.
  • Collaborating with teams to suggest minor process adjustments to improve efficiency.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Qualifications

· Minimum SPM & above

Job Experience

· Work in logistic, manufacturing or packaging centre environment with minimum 1 year experience

Technical Skills

· Good in calculations

Language Proficiency

· English & Bahasa Malaysia

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
