Job Summary

The Clinic Doctor is responsible for providing safe, ethical, and high-quality medical care to patients at the clinic. The role includes clinical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, minor procedures, medical documentation and contributing to clinic growth and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Consultation & Patient Care

Conduct medical consultations, diagnosis and treatment for walk-in and appointment-based patients

Prescribe medications and provide medical advice according to MOH guidelines

Perform basic medical procedures (e.g. wound care, nebulisation, injections, ECG if applicable)

Manage acute and chronic conditions appropriately

Refer patients to specialists or hospitals when clinically indicated

2. Medical Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate and complete medical records in EMR or manual system

Issue medical certificates, referral letters and reports as required

Ensure compliance with MOH, MMC and clinic SOPs

Practice according to ethical and professional standards

3. Clinic Operations Support

Work closely with clinic assistants to ensure smooth daily operations

Ensure clinic readiness including consultation room setup, instruments and consumables

Participate in maintaining cleanliness, infection control and patient flow

Support peak-hour operations and weekend coverage as scheduled

4. Patient Experience & Retention

Deliver courteous, empathetic, and patient-centred care

Educate patients on disease prevention, medication compliance and lifestyle modification

Handle patient concerns professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels

5. Business & Growth Contribution (if applicable)

Support clinic revenue through ethical upselling of relevant services (screening, vaccinations, procedures)

Participate in health talks, corporate panels or community programmes in nearby clinic area

Contribute ideas to improve clinic services and operational efficiency

Working Hours

Rotational shifts including weekends and public holidays

Typical GP clinic hours (to be specified by employer)

Job Requirements

MBBS or equivalent, fully registered with Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)

Valid APC

Minimum 1 year clinical experience (Fresh MO acceptable depending on clinic)

Able to work independently and handle high patient volume

Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

Experience in private GP clinics

Ability to perform minor surgical procedures

Occupational health / corporate panel experience

Basic aesthetic or dermatology exposure (if clinic offers services)

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (optional)

Number of patients seen per shift

Patient satisfaction score

Medical documentation accuracy

Compliance with SOPs and clinical guidelines

Contribution to clinic revenue (ethical & compliant)
