The Assembly Technician / Japanese Communication Coordinator will play a key role in supporting GTM's new assembly operation.

The successful candidate will participate in equipment assembly activities while also serving as a communication bridge between Japanese engineers and local Malaysian employees.

This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy manufacturing, learning new technologies, and working in an international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Assembly

• Assemble semiconductor manufacturing equipment and related modules.
• Follow assembly work instructions and quality standards.
• Support equipment testing and inspection activities.
• Assist in documenting assembly procedures and work instructions.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Support production start-up and assembly process development activities.

Communication Coordination

• Provide Japanese-English interpretation during meetings, training sessions, and daily operations.
• Support communication between Japanese expatriates and Malaysian employees.
• Translate technical documents, reports, work instructions, and project materials.
• Assist visiting engineers and trainers from Japan.
• Facilitate effective communication within multicultural project teams.

Training in Japan

• Successful candidates will participate in a practical training program in Japan from approximately late July through the end of August 2026.

Training includes:

• Semiconductor manufacturing equipment assembly processes
• Manufacturing and quality management practices
• Hands-on assembly training
• Production workflow and safety practices
• Communication with Japanese engineering team
• All training-related expenses will be fully sponsored by the company

Required

• Advanced Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1 preferred or equivalent business-level Japanese)
• Advanced English communication skills (spoken and written)
• Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment
• Strong interest in manufacturing, engineering, and hands-on work
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
• Ability to travel and stay in Japan for training
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Experience in Japanese-English interpretation or translation
• Experience working for Japanese companies
• Study or work experience in Japan
• Basic technical knowledge or engineering background
• Manufacturing experience

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
