Job Purpose

To lead and manage the overall freight forwarding operations, ensuring efficient execution of air, sea, land transportation, customs clearance, customer service, and logistics coordination while achieving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, compliance, and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

Oversee daily freight forwarding operations for air, sea, and land shipments.

Ensure smooth coordination between customers, carriers, shipping lines, airlines, customs authorities, transporters, and internal departments.

Monitor shipment movements and ensure timely delivery according to customer requirements.

Resolve operational issues, shipment delays, claims, and service failures effectively.

Ensure adherence to company SOPs, industry regulations, and compliance requirements.

Team Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop freight forwarding operations teams.

Allocate workloads and resources to ensure operational efficiency.

Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development.

Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Customer Service & Relationship Management

Maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.

Support business development teams in customer retention and solution design.

Participate in customer meetings and operational reviews.

Financial & Cost Control

Monitor operational costs and profitability of shipments.

Ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and vendor payments.

Negotiate rates with carriers, shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and service providers.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and company policies.

Monitor operational KPIs and service standards.

Manage audits, documentation accuracy, and regulatory requirements.

Implement corrective actions and process improvements where necessary.

Process Improvement

Drive digitalization and automation initiatives within freight forwarding operations.

Review workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.

Implement best practices and operational excellence programs.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in freight forwarding and logistics operations.

At least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership position.

Strong knowledge of air freight, sea freight, customs clearance, and transportation operations.

Familiarity with freight management systems and logistics software.

Knowledge of international trade regulations and Incoterms.
