Duty & Responsibilities

1 Planning and organizing lifting operations

Lifting supervisors are involved in the planning phase of lifting operations with engineer. They assess the site (road/site survey), identify potential hazards, and develop lifting plans to ensure the safe execution of tasks.

2*Supervising lifting activities *

During lifting operations, the supervisor oversees the entire process, ensuring that all safety procedures are followed. They coordinate with crane operators, riggers, and other personnel involved in the operation to ensure lifting operations are carried out in strict compliance to the approved Crane Lift Plan.

3*Ensuring compliance with safety regulations*

Lifting supervisors ensure that all lifting equipment is properly inspected, certified, and in compliance with safety standards. They also make sure that workers involved in the lifting operation are trained and competent.

4*Identifying and managing risks*

Lifting operations can be hazardous, and it's the supervisor's responsibility to identify potential risks and implement measures to mitigate them. They conduct risk assessments, monitor the operation closely, and take immediate action to prevent accidents.

5*Providing safety training and guidance*

Lifting supervisors play a vital role in training and educating workers on safe lifting practices. They conduct toolbox talks, provide guidance on proper lifting techniques, and promote a safety culture within the organization.

6*Equipment Inspection*

Conduct daily inspection on crane, lifting accessories, including chain slings, webbing slings, or wire rope slings, prior to commencement of work. Ensure the suitability and fitness for use of cranes, lifting equipment/ accessories are selected for work and ensure that they have the required statutory certifications and comply with other applicable requirements.
