Job Overview
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a key role in connecting customer requirements with advanced machine vision and automation solutions. You will be responsible for understanding technical needs, supporting solution design, and providing end-to-end technical support from pre-sales consultation to post-sales service. Your role ensures customers receive optimized, high-performance solutions that enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
Job Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Technical Support
- Work closely with the Sales team throughout the sales cycle to develop and propose suitable machine vision or automation solutions based on customer requirements.
- Support solution design including cameras, lighting, optics, sensors, and software configuration.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies to ensure proposed solutions meet customer application needs.
Technical Demonstrations & Proof of Concept
- Design and conduct laboratory testing, proof-of-concept evaluations, and on-site demonstrations.
- Present technical solutions during customer visits, exhibitions, seminars, and industry events.
- Demonstrate system capabilities and provide technical explanations to customers.
Post-Sales Technical Support
- Provide technical support to customers after system installation.
- Troubleshoot technical issues on-site and ensure timely resolution.
- Support system optimization and ensure stable performance of installed solutions.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Engage with customers through site visits for both pre-sales and post-sales support.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnership.
- Understand evolving customer requirements and provide appropriate technical recommendations.
Travel Requirement
- Willing to travel locally and internationally as required (approximately up to 25% overnight travel).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in machine vision, industrial automation, technical support, or field service engineering.
- Strong technical understanding of industrial cameras, lighting systems, lenses, sensors, or related automation technologies.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English (both written and spoken).
