Position :

Electrical Estimation Engineer

• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Location: Office-Based (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia)
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Travel Requirement: Occasional site visits for tender briefings, technical evaluations, project inspections, and pre-tender assessments.

Key Responsibilities :

As an Electrical Estimation Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting our Tendering and Project Delivery teams by preparing accurate, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates for electrical engineering projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical engineering works.
• Perform quantity take-offs based on engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost analyses, and tender pricing schedules.
• Review tender documents, technical specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to develop competitive tender submissions.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation while maintaining technical compliance.
• Assess project variations, change orders, and additional work costs.
• Maintain accurate estimation records, historical cost databases, and market benchmarking information.
• Support project budgeting, cost planning, reporting, and management decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements :

We are looking for a motivated professional with the following qualifications and experience:

Experience

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical estimation, quantity take-offs, and BOQ preparation for M&E engineering or construction projects, with practical knowledge of 33kV, 11kV, LV, and ELV systems.
• Hands-on experience in M&E construction, coordination, and estimation for projects involving:

- Industrial & Manufacturing Facilities

- Commercial Buildings

- Data Centres

- Factory Fit-Out Projects

- Other large-scale industrial or commercial developments

Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering systems, construction methodologies, and cost estimation principles.
• Familiarity with Malaysian construction standards, statutory regulations, tendering procedures, and contract documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, estimation software, quantity take-off, and interpretation of AutoCAD and engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to conduct market pricing research, technical evaluations, and cost benchmarking.

Soft Skills

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills when engaging with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight submission deadlines.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
