About the Role:-

• We are seeking a proactive and technically competent Project Engineer – Facility to support our plant capital investment and modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and managing civil, structural, and facility-related projects within a live manufacturing environment.
• The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards and statutory requirements, while minimizing disruption to ongoing plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Plan and execute civil, structural, and facility improvement works within the plant’s capital investment projects, including layout re-design, building modification, and infrastructure upgrades carried out within an operating facility.
• Prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate with appointed consultants, contractors, suppliers, internal stakeholders, and statutory authorities, including managing design submissions and approvals for civil, structural, and building works.
• Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed according to specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contractor submissions.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance for buildings, infrastructure, and facilities.
• Prepare project reports, progress updates, and documentation.
• Evaluate contractor performance and verify completed work before payment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility reliability and efficiency.
• Interface and coordinate closely with process and mechanical & electrical (M&E) project engineers to ensure civil and structural works are aligned with production, mechanical, electrical, and utility requirements.
• Manage authority submissions and obtain statutory approvals (DOE, DOSH, Bomba, local authority, water and electrical) for civil and building scope, ensuring all permits are secured prior to commencement and at completion.
• Plan and sequence works to minimise disruption to ongoing plant operations, coordinating shutdowns, temporary works, and phasing with production and facilities teams.
• Provide regular progress, cost, and risk updates to the Project Management Office (PMO), and support project governance reporting on scope, cost, timeline, and risk.

Requirements:-

Professional experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in civil/structural construction, facility, or capital project works, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience in managing contractors and consultants and in handling statutory authority submissions and approvals is an advantage.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Professional skills

• Knowledge of building regulations, construction practices, statutory submission processes (DOE, DOSH, Bomba, local authority), and project management.
• Good interpersonal communication & negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; project management software is an advantage.
