About the Role:-

  • We are looking for a highly motivated Project Engineer – Process to join our Capital Projects team and support the delivery of strategic plant expansion and modernization initiatives.
  • This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and managing food and beverage processing systems—including retort thermal processing, UHT, blending and homogenization, and filling and packing—within a live manufacturing environment. You will ensure process projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with food safety, quality, and statutory requirements while maintaining uninterrupted plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute the installation, relocation, upgrade, and expansion of food and beverage process equipment and lines—including retort thermal processing, UHT, blending and homogenization, and filling and packing—within the plant’s capital investment projects.
  • Prepare project schedules, budgets, technical specifications, and resource plans for process scope, and develop equipment and process requirements in line with production capacity targets.
  • Coordinate with equipment OEMs, process technology vendors, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on design, supply, installation, and acceptance of process systems.
  • Review process design drawings, P&IDs, equipment layouts, technical specifications, and vendor submissions to ensure they meet process, hygiene, and food safety requirements.
  • Manage installation, commissioning, and start-up of process equipment, including factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), process validation, and thermal process validation for retort and UHT systems.
  • Interface and coordinate closely with the facility (civil & structural) and mechanical & electrical (M&E) project engineers to ensure process equipment requirements for space, utilities, services, and structural loads are aligned and delivered.
  • Define process utility requirements (steam, water, CIP, compressed air, chilled water, electrical load) and coordinate their provision with the facility and M&E workstreams.
  • Plan and sequence process works to minimise disruption to ongoing plant operations, coordinating shutdowns, tie-ins, and phasing with production and facilities teams.
  • Evaluate contractor and vendor performance, verify completed work before payment, and manage handover to operations, including process documentation, SOPs, and operator training.
  • Ensure process installations comply with food safety, hygienic design, quality, environmental, and occupational safety standards, and support relevant statutory and authority requirements (e.g. DOSH pressure-vessel and machinery approvals) for process equipment.
  • Prepare project reports and provide regular progress, cost, and risk updates to the Project Management Office (PMO), and support project governance reporting on scope, cost, timeline, and risk.

Requirement:-

Professional experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in process engineering, equipment installation, or capital project delivery, preferably within a food and beverage or FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in commissioning and validating process equipment and in managing equipment OEMs, vendors, and contractors is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and statistical problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or manufacturing systems is an advantage.

Professional skills

  • Knowledge of food and beverage processing technologies, including retort thermal processing, UHT, blending and homogenization, and filling and packing.
  • Understanding of process equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and hygienic (sanitary) design principles.
  • Project management skills, with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools an advantage. Good interpersonal communication & negotiation skills.

Unique Critical Attributes / Key Competencies

  • The incumbent in this role needs excellent interpersonal skills and very well-developed cultural awareness skills, given that the role will work closely with people, supporting the corresponding other functions and working with multiple stakeholders.
