Job Title: CNC Technician
Job Summary
The CNC Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting CNC machines to produce high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and production specifications. The role ensures machines operate efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines (milling, turning, drilling, or machining centers) according to production requirements.
- Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently to meet production schedules.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and work instructions.
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters.
- Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality inspections using measuring instruments.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and machining issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic machine repairs.
- Replace worn cutting tools and maintain tooling inventory.
- Record production data, machine downtime, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure products comply with customer specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices (5S) in the work area.
- Comply with company policies, ISO procedures, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements.
- Report equipment abnormalities, safety hazards, and quality issues to the supervisor.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Train and guide CNC Operators when required.
Qualifications
- Certificate, Diploma, or Vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in CNC machining (preferred).
- Experience with CNC Milling and/or CNC Lathe machines.
- Knowledge of CNC programming (G-code/M-code) is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of machining processes and cutting tools.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as:
Vernier calliper, Micrometer, Height gauge, Dial indicator, Bore gauge
- Basic understanding of CNC programming and editing.

- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Time management and ability to work under pressure.
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
