About the role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Account Assistant to join the accounting team at Kencana Pharma Tech Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Jitra, Kedah. In this role, you will provide essential support to our accounting department, contributing to the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and records. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial integrity of our pharmaceutical technology company and supporting our finance team in delivering high-quality financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and recording financial transactions including invoices, purchase orders, and payment documentation
• Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Maintaining and organising financial records in both physical and digital formats
• Performing data entry tasks with precision and attention to detail
• Supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Liaising with internal departments and external vendors regarding financial matters
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Supporting the senior accounting staff with ad hoc projects and tasks as required

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience as an Account Assistant or in a similar accounting support role
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
• Strong organisational and time management abilities with capacity to handle multiple tasks
• Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
• High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry accounting practices is preferred
• Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and compliance requirements is advantageous
