About the Role

We are looking for an Applied AI Engineer who does more than execute assigned tasks. You will identify real problems, research emerging AI technologies, and build practical AI-enabled products, mobile applications, automations, and internal tools from idea to deployment.

You will work closely with users, business teams, and the HOD IT to understand needs, evaluate new AI capabilities, and turn promising ideas into reliable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify operational, business, and user problems that can be solved with AI and technology.
• Research, test, and evaluate new AI models, tools, frameworks, agents, and automation platforms.
• Build, deploy, and improve AI-enabled products and internal tools.
• Develop mobile applications and user-facing products where appropriate.
• Translate user needs into clear requirements, workflows, prototypes, and technical solutions.
• Work directly with stakeholders to validate ideas and gather feedback.
• Support the HOD IT as a research and technology partner by preparing AI evaluations, recommendations, prototypes, and briefings.
• Integrate AI capabilities with existing systems, applications, and business processes.
• Evaluate solutions for usefulness, reliability, security, privacy, and business value.
• Document findings, share knowledge, and help the organization adopt effective AI practices.
• Take ownership of projects from problem discovery through implementation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience building software products, applications, prototypes, or technology solutions.
• Experience with generative AI, machine learning tools, AI agents, automation, or API integrations.
• Mobile application development experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and product-thinking skills.
• Understanding of software development, APIs, databases, and system integration.
• Ability to research and assess the practical value of emerging technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A portfolio, GitHub profile, or examples of products you have built is an advantage.

Work Arrangement

• This is primarily an onsite role.
• We currently practise working from home one day per week.
• The exact work arrangement can be discussed during the interview process.
