Job Title: Construction Project Engineer - Security Systems

Location: Shah Alam, Malaysia

1-year renewable contract.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Engineer – Security Systems to support the delivery of critical security infrastructure on a hyperscale data center project. This role is embedded within the PMC team and will interface closely with client stakeholders, general contractors, and specialist vendors to ensure the successful implementation of physical security systems in line with Google’s global standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construction Oversight & Coordination
• Supervise and coordinate the installation of physical security systems including CCTV, access control, boom gates, vehicle barriers, turnstiles, and parking management systems.
• Monitor contractor progress and ensure alignment with project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks for security system installations, ensuring compliance with design intent and local codes.
• Technical & Design Interface
• Review and interpret security system drawings, schematics, and technical submittals.
• Coordinate with design consultants, MEP engineers, and civil/structural teams to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration of security infrastructure.
• Provide technical input during design reviews and value engineering exercises.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management
• Liaise with specialist security system vendors and integrators to ensure timely delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Support procurement and material tracking for long-lead security components.
• Facilitate coordination between Google’s global security team and local implementation teams.
• Testing, Commissioning & Handover
• Oversee FAT, SAT, and integrated system testing for all security systems.
• Ensure documentation, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings are complete and accurate.
• Support training and handover processes to client operations teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of construction site experience, preferably on mission-critical or data center projects.
• Proven experience with physical security systems: CCTV, ACS, perimeter intrusion detection, vehicle access control, etc.
• Familiarity with Google’s or other hyperscaler’s security standards is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, QA/QC processes, and site safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
