Role Description

The NDT Technician role at Proficient Inspection Services is a full-time, on-site position based in Bintulu. In this role, the technician performs Non-Destructive Testing using approved methods (such as visual, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, radiographic, or other techniques) to evaluate materials, welds, and components without causing damage. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and operating NDT equipment, following inspection procedures and safety standards, recording and interpreting test results, and preparing clear inspection reports. The technician collaborates with supervisors, engineers, and clients to schedule inspections, clarify requirements, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. The role also involves maintaining equipment, adhering to strict safety protocols, and participating in ongoing training to stay current with industry practices.

Qualifications

• Relevant NDT certifications (e.g., UT, MT, PT, RT or equivalent levels) and proven ability to perform Non-Destructive Testing in an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of inspection procedures, applicable codes and standards, and safety regulations related to NDT and industrial worksites.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents, and to produce clear, accurate inspection records and reports.
• Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to identify defects, anomalies, and potential safety issues during inspections.
• Comfort working on-site in industrial environments, including fieldwork, confined spaces, or elevated areas, while following all safety requirements.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with supervisors, colleagues, and clients, and to provide professional customer service.
• Prior experience in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, or construction is an advantage.
• Relevant technical diploma or equivalent education in engineering, materials, or a related field is preferred; additional NDT training is beneficial.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
