Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Data Centre Projects)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering large-scale Data Centre projects across Selangor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of the project from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
- Administer subcontractor procurement, tender evaluations, and contract awards.
- Prepare and evaluate subcontractor progress claims and payment certificates.
- Monitor project costs, cash flow, and budget performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare variation orders, extension of time (EOT) claims, and final accounts.
- Conduct cost analysis and provide regular commercial reports to project management.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams on commercial matters.
- Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
- Maintain accurate commercial documentation and project records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–8 years of Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor.
- Experience delivering Data Centre, industrial, semiconductor, cleanroom, warehouse, or large-scale commercial projects will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and contract administration.
- Experience preparing cost reports, variation claims, and final accounts.
- Good understanding of Malaysian construction practices and contract forms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a project team.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with fast-track or mission-critical projects.
- Familiarity with FIDIC, PAM, or other standard forms of contract.
- Knowledge of M&E packages and CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) works is an advantage.
