We are a leading retail chain company in Malaysia, operating a diverse portfolio of hypermarket, supermarket, pharmacy and F&B brands, which included Giant, Cold Storage, Mercato, TMC, My Chemist Hub, Uncle Jack, Mercato Café and Kyojin Sushi.   

In line with our expansion plan, we are looking for a driven and ambitious Category Manager (GMS) to join our team at GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. This full-time role is based in Shah Alam, Selangor and will be responsible for managing and optimizing the product categories within our retail business.

What you'll be doing

• Analyze market trends and consumer data to identify opportunities for category growth and development
• Develop and implement effective category management strategies to drive sales and profitability
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best products, pricing and terms for your categories
• Collaborate with the merchandising, marketing and operations teams to ensure seamless category execution
• Monitor category performance and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve results
• Provide regular reporting and insights to the senior management team
• Any related tasks/project assigned by Superior from time to time

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in category management or retail buying within the Retail & Consumer Products industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners
• Proactive and results-oriented mindset with a passion for the retail industry
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing or Retail Management
