Job Description

MRKB Bookstore is looking for a friendly, responsible, and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team. If you enjoy interacting with customers and working in a bookstore environment, we would love to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities

• Scan items and explain prices to customers
• Remove security tags from purchased items
• Handle customer payments accurately and efficiently
• Perform basic math calculations to collect payments and provide correct change
• Use cashier systems including registers, scanners, scales, and card payment terminals
• Process coupons, vouchers, exchanges, and refunds
• Assist customers with membership card registration and membership renewal
• Balance cash drawer and maintain accurate transaction records
• Prepare till tally and transaction reports when required during shifts
• Bag customer purchases carefully and professionally
• Check stock levels and assist in refilling shelves
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area
• Provide excellent customer service at all times

Requirements

• Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent
• Previous cashier or retail experience is an advantage
• Basic computer and math skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Honest, responsible, and able to work independently
• Able to work on weekends, public holidays, and shift schedules
