Job Description & Requirements

  • Assist elderly through prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance mobility, strength, and overall physical function
  • Assist PT and OT with the activities for geriatric client
  • Motivate elderly to practice essential life skills with tailored positive reinforcement
  • Monitor treatment compliance and record developmental milestones or concerns
  • Assist with transfering of patient
  • Setup equipment for therapy session and ensure area is clean and safe
  • Observe and report elderly progress or challenges to the occupational therapist
  • Support the occupational therapist during group therapy session

Requirements:

  • WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support (Therapy Support), or NITEC in Community Care & Social Services
  • Min 2 years experience in healthcare or therapy
