Job Overview

Trans Elevator (M) Sdn Bhd is looking for an experienced Senior Lift & Escalator Technician to oversee technical field operations, handle complex elevator/escalator troubleshooting, and mentor junior technicians. You will ensure all vertical transportation systems serviced by Trans Elevator meet strict safety standards, performance benchmarks, and statutory requirements (JKKP / DOSH).

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Locate and rectify complex mechanical and electrical faults on lift drive systems, controllers, variable frequency drives (VFD), door operators, and signal/control boards.
• Overhauls & Upgrades: Lead major component overhauls, replacements (e.g., hoisting ropes, traction machines, controller boards), and modernized upgrades.
• Testing & Inspection: Perform testing and commissioning on new installations or refurbished lifts, ensuring compliance with safety and legal regulations.
• Emergency Standby: Lead breakdown response teams for urgent breakdown repairs and passenger rescue calls during standby duty shifts.
• Team Supervision: Guide, train, and supervise Junior Technicians on safe work procedures, wiring diagram reading, and field troubleshooting.
• Client & Audit Reporting: Prepare technical reports for complex failures and liaise directly with building managers or clients regarding site issues.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Certificate/SKM, Diploma, or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in lift and escalator maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing (Experience with multiple controller brands/home lifts is an advantage).
• Technical Mastery: Excellent skill in reading electrical schematics, blueprint interpretations, micro-processor control systems, and mechanical drives.
• License: Possess a valid Class D or B2 Driving License with own transport to travel to client sites.
• Attributes: Strong problem-solving abilities, high standard of safety awareness (JKKP guidelines), leadership skills, and flexibility for after-hours emergency calls.
