We are a growing outsource service provider startup offering accounting, payroll, and administrative solutions to businesses of all sizes. As we expand, we’re looking for a proactive and dependable Account Executive to take charge of full sets of accounts and client portfolios. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, payroll compliance, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients and handle full sets of accounts independently, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
- Lead the year-end financial closing process and ensure accounts are audit-ready within agreed timelines.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and government bodies for year-end and compliance matters.
- Prepare audit schedules, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and resolve audit queries promptly.
- Ensure timely submission of SST returns and other statutory filings.
- Manage client communications professionally, respond to accounting queries, and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed deadlines.
- Work closely with Account Assistants by providing guidance, sharing accounting knowledge, and supporting them in preparing accurate full sets of accounts while ensuring timely completion of client deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to operational efficiency.
- Assist management with budgeting, cash flow planning, internal reporting, and other ad hoc financial projects.
- Handle ad hoc financial or administrative projects as assigned.
- Assist in payroll processing and statutory payroll submissions when required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance-related work.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting/ Finance (professional qualification like LCCI, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage).
- Strong understanding of MPERS/ MFRS standards and Malaysian tax requirements.
- Proficient in Excel/ Google Sheets and at least one accounting software (e.g. SQL, Xero, Autocount, MYOB, Bukku or QuickBooks).
- Basic knowledge in handling modern personal computing technology, including cloud-based tools (e.g. Google Workspace, Office 365), file sharing platforms (e.g. Google Drive, OneDrive), and online communication tools (e.g. Google Chat, Teams, Zoom, WhatsApp, Telegram).
- Strong planning and time management skills, able to prioritize multiple deadlines and manage client deliverables efficiently.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple clients with tight deadlines.
- Experience in shared services or BPO environments.
- Possess own transport and willing to travel within Klang Valley occasionally.
