We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Smart Factory Engineer (New College Graduate) to join our manufacturing digitalization and automation team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to Industry 4.0 initiatives through factory automation, data analytics, AI/ML applications, IoT connectivity, and smart manufacturing solutions.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, equipment engineering, process engineering, IT, and automation functions to drive operational excellence, productivity improvements, and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support Smart Factory & Automation Projects

Participate in factory automation and digitalization projects to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Assist in project planning, requirement gathering, testing, deployment, and project documentation.

Support implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions across manufacturing operations.

2. Develop and Implement Digital Solutions

Support integration of equipment, manufacturing systems, databases, and digital platforms.

Assist in developing applications using modern programming and automation technologies.

3. Support Automation and System Integration

Collaborate with equipment, process, manufacturing, and IT teams to improve factory automation capabilities.

Assist in deploying system connectivity solutions involving MES, equipment interfaces, Industrial IoT, and smart manufacturing platforms.

Support troubleshooting and resolution of automation system issues.

4. Cross-Site Collaboration

Work with global Smart Factory and Manufacturing teams to learn and adopt best practices.

Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and support deployment of proven solutions across manufacturing sites.

Contribute to standardization initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

5. Continuous Improvement and Innovation

Support initiatives focused on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, quality, cycle time, and cost efficiency.

Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.

Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and eliminate non-value-added activities.

6. Emerging Technology Exploration

Explore and evaluate new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Digital Twin, and Industrial IoT applications.

Contribute ideas and proof-of-concept projects supporting NXP's Smart Manufacturing roadmap.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in:

Computer Science

Computer Engineering

Software Engineering

Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Mechatronics Engineering

Information Technology

Data Science

Or related disciplines

Preferred Technical Skills

Understanding of databases, data analytics, and visualization tools.

Familiarity with automation, robotics, IoT, or industrial systems is an advantage.

Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, cloud technologies, or software development is preferred.

Exposure to MES, manufacturing systems, or semiconductor manufacturing is a plus.

Soft Skills

Self-motivated with a passion for technology and innovation.

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

Fresh graduates or candidates with less than 2 years of working experience.
