- Able to read drawings
- Able to follow specific tiling patterns
- Able to lift heavy materials and equipment
- Able to work independently without supervision
- Able to use tile cutters and other tools of the trade
- Strong manual skills
- Cut tiles and shape them properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using power and hand tools
- Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs
- Identify and rectify wall and floor tiling defects
- Inspecting surfaces to be tiled
- Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base, making sure not to break or damage tiles
- Willing to work a midnight shift
- Willing to work overtime
- Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions (heat, cold, outdoors)
