WE’RE HIRING – QHSE ENGINEER

Department: Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)

Linsun Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a competent and detail-oriented QHSE Engineer to strengthen our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management systems across our construction projects.

This position is primarily office-based and focuses on QHSE documentation, compliance monitoring, management systems, audits, reporting and supporting our project teams.

This is not a site scaffolding operational role. The successful candidate will not be physically involved in scaffolding erection, modification or dismantling activities. Site attendance will mainly be for QHSE audits, inspections, compliance reviews and coordination with project teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

QHSE Documentation & Management Systems

• Develop, implement and maintain the Company’s QHSE Management System.

• Prepare, review and control QHSE procedures, policies, manuals and project-specific documentation.

• Maintain proper document control, registers, records and filing systems.

• Ensure QHSE documentation remains current and compliant with applicable statutory, client and company requirements.

• Assist in maintaining and improving ISO-aligned management systems.

Quality Management

• Prepare and review Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists and quality procedures.

• Monitor quality performance across ongoing projects.

• Maintain records of inspections, NCRs, corrective actions and preventive actions.

• Follow up with project teams on closure of quality observations and NCRs.

• Assist in internal quality audits and continual improvement initiatives.

Health, Safety & Environmental Management

• Assist in developing HSE plans, procedures, risk assessments, checklists and supporting documentation.

• Monitor project compliance with Company HSE requirements and applicable Malaysian legislation.

• Review safety documentation submitted by project teams.

• Track HSE observations, incidents, corrective actions and close-out status.

• Maintain QHSE statistics, dashboards and management reports.

Site Audits & Inspections

• Conduct scheduled QHSE audits and compliance inspections at project sites.

• Identify non-conformances, unsafe conditions, documentation gaps and areas for improvement.

• Prepare professional audit and inspection reports with recommendations and corrective actions.

• Follow up with Project Managers, Site Supervisors and HSE personnel until identified issues are satisfactorily closed.

• Participate in client or third-party audits where required.

Compliance & Reporting

• Monitor compliance with DOSH, CIDB, OSHA requirements, client specifications and other applicable regulations.

• Maintain audit schedules, training records, competency records and statutory documentation.

• Prepare monthly QHSE performance reports for Management.

• Assist in preparing documentation for client pre-qualification, tender submissions and project mobilisations.

• Coordinate with project teams to ensure required QHSE documents are submitted on time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Quality Management, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.

• Preferably 5-8 years of relevant QHSE experience within the construction, engineering or industrial sector.

• Good knowledge of QHSE documentation, internal audits, inspections and compliance monitoring.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems will be an advantage.

• Knowledge of Malaysian construction safety and regulatory requirements will be an advantage.

• Strong report-writing, documentation and analytical skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and document-control systems.

• Able to communicate effectively with Management, project teams, clients and auditors.

• Willing to travel to project sites when required for audits, inspections and compliance reviews.

• Possess a valid driving licence and able to travel independently will be an advantage.
