Job Description

As an Engineer specifically in Automotive Wire Harness, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing wire harness systems for automotive applications. A key aspect of your role will involve proficiently reading and interpreting engineering drawings, as well as creating detailed manufacturing drawings for wire harness assemblies. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing specialists, you will translate design requirements into robust and efficient wire harness solutions. Your role will involve conducting feasibility studies, creating detailed schematics and specifications, selecting components, and overseeing the manufacturing and testing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and performance requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to understand wire harness requirements, component placement, and electrical connections.
• Collaborate with product development teams to define wire harness requirements based on vehicle specifications, electrical systems, and regulatory standards.
• Design and engineer wire harness layouts, routing paths, and electrical connections using CAD software and other engineering tools.
• Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to evaluate the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of wire harness designs, considering factors such as electrical load, thermal management, vibration, and environmental conditions.
• Select appropriate materials, components, connectors, and wiring accessories for use in wire harness assemblies, considering factors such as cost, availability, and compatibility with automotive systems.
• Create manufacturing drawings detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for wire harness designs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with engineering standards and industry regulations.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to procure components, prototype wire harness assemblies, and oversee the production process to meet quality, cost, and timeline objectives.
• Collaborate with testing and validation teams to develop test plans, conduct performance tests, and analyze test data to verify the functionality, durability, and safety of wire harness systems.
• Troubleshoot design issues, manufacturing defects, and field failures related to wire harness assemblies, and implement corrective actions to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in wire harness design, automotive electrical systems, and manufacturing processes, and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and management, providing regular project updates, technical reports, and recommendations to support decision-making and project execution.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks assigned by superiors, such as participating in special projects, conducting research, preparing reports, or assisting with departmental initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electronics & electricals engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
• Proven experience in automotive wire harness design, development, and manufacturing, with a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) or ECAD engineering analysis tools for wire harness routing, simulation, and optimization.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing automotive electrical systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical challenges, develop innovative solutions, and drive projects to completion.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
• Experience with project management methodologies, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to successfully execute engineering projects.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering standards and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, and continuous learning.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
