Tanggungjawab

Every child has a Mind Story. Help them write it.

At Mind Story, we believe that working with children with special needs is more than teaching a lesson. It is about understanding how each child learns, building meaningful connections, and helping them develop the skills and confidence to participate more independently in everyday life.

We are looking for a SEN Teacher who wants to build a meaningful professional career in special education.

You will work closely with children up to 18 years old in both classroom and 1-to-1 settings, as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be supported through mentoring, observation, coaching and professional development as you develop your teaching practice.

This is a role for someone who is curious, energetic, patient and willing to learn—not someone who simply wants to "look after" children.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, develop and deliver purposeful and engaging lessons in classroom and 1-to-1 settings.
  • Adapt lessons, activities and teaching strategies according to each student's individual learning needs.
  • Support students in developing academic, communication, social, emotional and independent living skills.
  • Observe students closely and use your observations to understand their strengths, needs and progress.
  • Manage classroom behaviour using positive, respectful and appropriate behaviour-support strategies.
  • Develop and review Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and individual learning goals.
  • Prepare lesson plans, student records and progress reports.
  • Communicate with parents regarding students' progress, achievements and areas for development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in case discussions, team meetings, training and professional development.
  • Receive and apply feedback from mentors and senior staff to continuously improve your practice.
  • Be open to learning and contributing to new programmes, approaches and services developed by Mind Story.

Who We're Looking For

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Are currently pursuing or have completed a Diploma/Degree in Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Therapy or a related field.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience working with children with special needs.
  • Fresh graduates with the right attitude, relevant exposure and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
  • Enjoy working directly with children and are genuinely interested in understanding how they learn and develop.
  • Have a growth mindset and are open to observation, coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Are patient, responsible, energetic and able to remain calm when faced with challenging behaviour.
  • Are able to plan independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Have good English communication and computer skills.
  • Are comfortable communicating with parents and working with other professionals.
  • Are willing to continuously learn new skills, approaches and services.
  • Are willing to work Tuesday–Saturday, 8.00am–5.00pm or Sunday–Thursday, 8.00am–5.00pm
  • Are a Malaysian citizen.
