About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Accountant to join our team in Balakong, Selangor on a full-time basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial health of the organisation through diligent record-keeping, financial analysis and reporting. This is a key position that contributes directly to the strategic decision-making processes of the company.

What you'll be doing

• Recording and reconciling financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all accounting entries

• Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts, including regular reconciliations of balance sheet items

• Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice verification and payment processing

• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards

• Performing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies

• Supporting the audit process by providing relevant documentation and explanations as required

• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities

• Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation

• Identifying and reporting accounting anomalies or discrepancies for investigation and resolution

• Supporting the finance team with ad hoc reporting and analysis as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a financial accounting or reporting role, preferably within a similar industry

• Strong proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet applications such as Excel

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies accurately

• Solid understanding of accounting principles, standards and best practices

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a team environment

• Knowledge of Malaysian tax and regulatory requirements would be advantageous

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional ethics
