Job Description
  • Lead and manage all yard welding engineering activities for EPC projects.
  • Establish and manage the ISO 3834 Welding management system.
  • Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedures (WPS), PQRs, and WPQs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes,standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, API, DNV, ABS) and and Client Specifications.
  • Interface with Class, Client, and Third-Party Inspection Agencies.
  • Review vendor welding documentation and fabrication procedures.
  • Provide technical support to yard / production team.
  • Tender technical review for compliance with yard practices.
  • Resolve welding-related NCRs, concessions, and technical queries.
  • Support material selection, PWHT, NDT coordination, and weld repair strategies.
  • Oversee Yard welder training, qualification and performance monitoring program. and welding consumable control.
  • Monitor welding related equipment and inspection instrument calibration and controls.
  • Participate in welding related surveillance and audits.
  • Establish welding sequence for critical structure to minimize / control distortion.
  • Monitor welding & NDT related performance targets
  • Mentor Welding Engineers, QAQC inspectors related to welding, PWHT activities.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Welding/Metallurgy/Materials/Mechanical engineering with IWE Diploma
  • Experience: 10+ Years in Str & Piping fabrication yard.
  • Experience in Carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex & super duplex, Inconel, Copper Nickel & Overlayed materials
  • Heavy structural fabrication with non tubular and tubular welds.
  • In-depth knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW).
  • Knowledge in NDT.
