Job Summary

Assist in preparing and cooking food items by following recipes and hygiene standards while supporting kitchen operations to ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, peeling, measuring, and portioning according to recipe requirements
• Cook food items following restaurant recipes and quality standards
• Support chefs and cooks in daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks
• Ensure food is prepared and presented meeting hygiene and quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food preparation areas
• Receive, store, and organize food ingredients and kitchen supplies efficiently
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures consistently
• Monitor ingredient levels and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed
• Assist with kitchen opening and closing duties to ensure readiness and cleanliness
• Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by management

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Relevant experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, or restaurant environments is an advantage but not mandatory
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from supervisors
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Physically fit to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen-related tasks
• Responsible, reliable, and committed to maintaining food quality and hygiene standards
