Job Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate fire safety products submitted for certification and regulatory acceptance, including (but not limited to):
    -Fire-rated doors, shutters, and assemblies
    -Fire-resistant construction systems
    -Regulated building materials and fire safety component
  • Review and assess fire test reports, assessment reports, and technical documentation against applicable standards referenced in the Singapore Fire Code
  • Evaluate Factory Production Control (FPC) systems, quality assurance documentation, and surveillance records in accordance with certification scheme requirements
  • Conduct factory inspections and site verification activities to confirm continued conformity with approved and certified configurations
  • Exercise independent and impartial technical judgment in conformity assessment and certification decision making
  • Support certification and listing activities related to SCDF product acceptance and listing requirements
  • Ensure certification activities are performed in compliance with ISO/IEC 17065 and relevant procedures under Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) accreditation or equivalent frameworks
  • Interface professionally with manufacturers, accredited test laboratories, Qualified Persons (QP), and internal technical committees

Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years’ experience in construction, manufacturing, or product testing
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification or auditing experience is an advantage
  • Knowledge of fire safety standards and ISO/IEC 17025 or ISO 17065 (advantage)
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with SCDF Fire Code requirements, product listing schemes, or regulatory acceptance processes is an advantage
  • Fresh graduates are welcome, experience added advantage
