JOB PURPOSE

Develop 3Dmodels of process water plants using the companies chosen CAD system utilisingtried and trusted arrangements as well as designing bespoke solutions asdictated by the available space and the contract specifications.

Completeassigned activities under the general guidance of CAD Team Lead and SeniorDesign Engineers

MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES include the following:

A CAD Engineerwill be expected to fulfil some or all of the following responsibilities on aproject under supervision.

• Produce plant layout drawings to best utilize theavailable space to incorporate the process equipment specified.

• Draft P&ID’s based on company standards andcontract specific requirements as well as the input of the process team.

• Prepare/update the 3D modellingdatabase with the relevant pipe specifications as required for specific projectneeds.

• Develop fully representative 3D models of bought outequipment from certified 2 D drawings.

• Create 3D models of plant arrangement includingPipework, Structural Steel, supports and Electrical containment ensuring theplant is operable and maintainable whilst meeting the process requirements.

• In conjunction with the various discipline Engineers,ensure that the system is structurally sound and fit for purpose.

• Present 3D model for review/HAZOP to internal andexternal audiences.

• Produce properly dimensioned 2D drawings from the model.

• Produce material take off and bills of material asrequired.

• Generate piping isometric drawings.

• Assist in the maintenance of the CAD system and ensurethat correct upgrades are identified and implemented.

• Check 2D drawings and 3D models produced by others.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCEAND CHARACTER

Relevanttechnical qualification such as a degree or a diploma in mechanical engineeringand or previous mechanical design experience.

Preferably 4-7years of experience in plant design projects. Familiarity with water industryprojects would be an advantage.

Familiaritywith ASME, ANSI and other international standardsfor piping and equipment.

You wouldpreferably be meticulous and able to give attention to detail in your work.

Ability to makedecisions requiring the use of a variety of variables in non-standardsituations.

Able to useindependent judgment in the performance of job duties without supervisorsupport where appropriate.

Competency in MSOffice programs; AutoCAD plant 3D or CADWORX & Navisworks

Travel : Minimaltravelling to sites in Singapore and international may be needed but this isexpected to be minimal.
