Role Description The [Urgent Hiring] Genset Commissioning Engineer (Data Centre) is a contract, on-site role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the commissioning of generator sets and associated power systems for data centre projects. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing commissioning schedules, leading site teams and vendors, reviewing technical documentation and test procedures, and ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, building services engineers, and procurement teams to resolve technical issues, manage risks, and meet project milestones. The Genset Commissioning Engineer will also prepare commissioning reports, maintain documentation, and support handover to operations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Commissioning Management, including planning, execution, testing, and documentation of genset and power systems for data centres.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of generator controls, synchronisation, ATS, LV systems, fuel systems, and auxiliary equipment
• Candidates should possess skills in Building Services, with experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems integration within mission-critical facilities.
• Candidates should possess skills in Project Management, including scheduling, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and progress reporting.
• Contract Management and Procurement, including vendor coordination, contract adherence, and support for material and equipment sourcing, would be an advantage.
• Proven experience in genset commissioning for data centres or other mission-critical environments, with strong knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary site teams and work under time-sensitive project conditions.
• Ability to work on-site in WP. Kuala Lumpur and overseas travel when required, with flexibility to support extended hours or shift work during critical commissioning phases.
