IT Support Engineer (Level 1)

• We are seeking an enthusiastic IT Support Engineer with 4 years of hands-on experience in desktop support and IT operations.
• The ideal candidate will provide front-line technical support for users , assisting with IT infrastructure and systems that support a securities trading environment.
• This role will involve day-to-day IT service delivery, troubleshooting, and resolving Level 1 technical issues across desktops, standard applications, video conferencing tools, IP phone systems, and onboarding/offboarding procedures.
• You will also gain exposure to trading-related IT systems and infrastructure, supporting senior IT staff to maintain system availability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA’s)

• Provide Level 1 IT support for all business units in Kuala Lumpur. Troubleshoot and resolve desktop and laptop hardware/software issues.
• Support video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom) and IP phone systems.
• Assist with user onboarding/offboarding, access provisioning, and account setup.
• Perform routine checks such as backup tape handling, antivirus updates, and patch deployments under supervision.
• Provide first-line support for internally developed and vendor business applications (Bloomberg, OMS etc).
• Help maintain software and hardware inventory records and documentation. Support senior engineers in project tasks, including testing, upgrades, and migrations.
• Assist with monitoring trading system infrastructure (servers, network connectivity, etc.) and escalating issues appropriately.
• Coordinate with traders, operations, and compliance staff to address basic IT concerns.
• Help keep system documentation and logs up to date.
• Participate in IT projects/testing relevant to capital markets and trading operations with guidance from senior staff.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in IT support, advantage if from financial services environment.
• Familiarity with Windows desktop environments, network connectivity, and voice technologies.
• Basic understanding of trading system or market data platforms (Bloomberg, TC Pro) is an advantage but not necessary.
• Strong customer-focus with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work effectively in a small team and under pressure.
• Experience in providing both face-to-face and remote support.
• Logical problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and adaptability.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
